JF gets a free pass on c.o.vms with regard to political commentary as
far as I am concenred. How could we ever have a decent political
discussion without him getting the ball rolling?

The OP and the OP' did, in fact, choose two candidates they opposed
who had actually lost their respective high profile races, and, who,
interestingly enough, happened to be women.
As far as Carly is concerned, I know very little about her and had
no particular interest in the California race. I think my primary
response to her losing is that it is a shame to have dumped that
much into a race and still lose.
With regard to HP, she lost there as well - like Obama, she had
not achieved the results she had hoped for in the time frame she
expected, and suffered the consequences. Perhaps the person who
fights the battles to obtain a merger or win a war is not the
person to govern in the followup. That Hurd was ultimately
booted after being successful is another issue.
