Thanks, Kari. From the machine's perspective, both are VAXes. From my 
human perspective, one is a VAX (VAXstation 4000/90) and the other is a 
SimH (a.k.a. "doesn't look like a VAX, doesn't taste like a VAX, but 
sometimes acts like a VAX").

I'm still slogging through the User's Manual, so I haven't had time to 
study clusters yet, but with Phillip's help I was able to set up a 
simple cluster consisting of the SimH as the boot server and the 
VAXstation as a satellite.
