Indeed.  On the other hand, I've never had to do a restore due to
accidentally deleting stuff, and shadowing protects against disk
failure.  Thus, the only time would probably be when moving to a larger 
physical disk some time in the future (i.e. back up the bound set and 
restore to a single disk).

That is my feeling as well; is the latter even possible?
