It's not sentiment, but simple marketing logic,
but probably you have zero respect for that either.
A platform on the edge of extinction should welcome
every opportunity to be on display, in order to attract
new users, developers, customers etc.
Dumbing it down to server only is exactly the opposite.
Of all IT ecosystems (especially the dying ones) VMS
is about the only one where people prefer to have
less applications rather than more.
A strange land indeed.
