If the tape unit does report "end of file", then why couldn't a Windows
system just copy individual files to disk ? It may not know the file
name and file structure, of the actual data file, but it would have its
data, right ?

>From there, if you get it into simh, set file/attributes will get it to
a backup readable format and bob's your uncle, you're in business.
