No. I don't care about what a simulator likes to see
(in fact I don't care about simulators at all,
I'd either take the original or leave it :-)
I was replying to what an ANSI tape in general is about.

Of course I do, if I actually want to read the files.
That's not much different from locating a file on
a CD, I would have to deal with ISO, UFS, Files11 etc.
Only for 1:1 copy of the image I get away with a simple
dd if=... of=...
