   Not always, but since it's a BACKUP tape, we know that it has ANSI
   labels, but did not use standard error processing unless the user
   used /exchange.  Utiltities like the Saveset Manager and TCOPY know
   how to deal with this.

   IMHO, getting anything off a tape and onto a Windows system is a
   problem best solved by a non-Windows system.  All the tape drives
   I've ever seen on Windows were understood only by the backup/restore
   software that they came with.
