Which was almost interoperable with VMS. The only problem I had
passing data between VMS and OS/360 using ANSI tapes was
that the IBM would always finish with an EOV label, which VMS
took to mean "go to the next of a multi-volume set".
We got around this by writing and EOF over the EOV while mounted
/foreign, then remounting the tape as labeled.
I never did try actual multi-volume tapes between the two systems.
Meanwhile, since we wwere putting the first VAX into a IBM 360 shop,
the nice folks at DEC gave us a little Fortran program that would
read and write EBCDIC labeled and unlabeled tapes.
