Coping with attacks from the internet is now a daily issue. One needs to
learn how to efficient deal with them. Setting the service limit to 2 or
3 succesful;y controls spam attacks. I have a good old VT220 as console
(which not gets syslog messages from the xserve and outputs them as
opcom messages).
I have gotten good at gauging events based on the pace of the bell
sounds from the terminal.
Spam storms often come from different IPs at the same time. Controlling
how many can get to your system at one point makes a huge dfference.
