If you want SCSI in the DS10L, you need to put in a PCI SCSI controller.
The DS10L, being a 1U high box, will accommodate ONLY one PCI card. I've
put an NCR 53C810 SCSI based KZPxx into my DS10L. It's also sporting two
512MB SIMMs for a grand total of 1GB. This is the max you can stuff in a
DS10L with the cover on and the right-angle memory riser cards in use. I
have gotten one to 2GB by leaving the cover off and installing the 512MB
directly into the SIMM slots. FYI, neither the DS10s nor the DS10Ls will
accept the 1GB SIMMs that their larger bretheren -- DS20 and ES40 series
systems -- do, which is sad as I could have the DS10L running with 2GB.
I have to fire up the DS20s or ES40s if I want vast amounts of physical
memory.
As for large IDE? I have Maxtor 6Y160P0s installed in my DS10Ls. These
are 160GB drives but have an initialized/mounted logical volume size of
137,438,952,960 or 137GB, which I do believe is the maximum for a DS10L.
