So in reality you don't want AUTOGEN messing around with these files.

When we were running a fleet of Alphas and a new system came our way we
simply looked at what pagefile sizes were in use on other systems and
created similar sized ones from the outset, disabling AUTOGEN's resizing
at the same time. These sizes were considerably larger than AUTOGEN's
initial suggestions - we didn't want to waste time getting there in
small increments.

I suggest you create the files where and what size you want, disable
their modification by AUTOGEN and be done with it.

A general note about AUTOGEN: given a constant workload once you have
reached fairly optimal settings for certain parameters, AUTOGEN will
yo-yo around them, alternately decreasing and increasing values by 5 or
10 percent. In a production setting you can be better off nailing them
down to minimum or even fixed values in MODPARAMS.DAT, and then
monitoring them on a regular basis.
