When I last saw one of these, the office kit was a set of different fans, 
different pedestal skins, PLUS firmware upgrades for the BMC, management 
processor, etc.  I don't rememeber any actual component or board being 
swapped.  I suspect it is the revised firmware updates that are marked it as 
'not customer installable'.  Maybe HP is afraid you'll brick the system?
