Another thought:


What if Apotheker is a one trick pony who only knows about enterprise
applications ? (He comes from SAP).

Could he decide to ditch hardware and OS and focus only on applications ?

Remember that Apotheker didn't really mention Itanium, VMS etc in his
strategy document a few months back (a fact used by Oracle to question
HP's commitment to Itanium and the OS that depend on it).

HP should be sending out signs now to reassure enterprise OS customers.
Then again, they will probably just say "HP is committed to supporting
our existing VMS customers" without anything more. (Meaningless commitment).
