So, yank it (or what is the proper term) I use that on my old BA356
storage (a uVAX 3100 from the stoneage). the disks are a bit
expensiven (RZ26) to be running but might good to have cold spare or
two when the system goes belly up.They are clones of the system and
the data disk. If it stops I can remote tell what to do to correct the
problem. And when I take a backup to tape I also copy all data to the
reserves.
Other systems (DS25) we use have 3 identical disk sets (7 disks, not
large but the IO gets down when we spread the datbase over them) 2
always mirrored, and the 3 mirrored and then taken out (dismounted)
once a day to get a backup. And then backup to tape once a week. (no
manual work, other thn checking the NBU logs).
The rest of Itanium is running SAN as a storage and it works - I like
it.
Sorry for my english, thinking its getting worse by the years, as I
dont use it.
