If HP goes by profit margins, the danger here is that the profit margins
generated by VMS are too small and that HP should be focusing resources
elsewhere.  HP does have contractual obligatiosn to continue to support
paying VMS customers. But that only forces HP to maintain VMS on life
support (as it is basically now).

On the other hand, if Apotheker really wants to refocus HP on enterprise
products/services, there is a chance of renewed interest in
HP-UX/VMS/NSK.  Only time will tell, because Apotheker isn't interested
in telling :-(
