   A large business may pay attention to this, but the last time I
   wandered through a store I still saw Compaq being sold.  The
   average consumer didn't seem to be paying any attention to Compaq
   having been bought by HP.  It seemed at a casual glance that HP
   was selling Compaq branded less capable systems marketed toward 
   casual home users and HP branded more capable systems marketed toward
   bussiness and more serious users.

   So if HP is in trouble, it is just a matter of who is going to buy
   them, and I agree that Oracle is not a likely answer.
