JF, I bought a Brennenstuhl PM230 meter to do just that. I learned
that an Alpha Server 1000/1200 class power supply with the power
switch turned off still takes 35 W. An AS1200 has two power supplies
and I own 6 of them plus 2 1000's...
So I put them all on power strips that had their own on/off switch.
Saved me more than 2000 mkWhrs the last 12 months.
The power company is still trying to figure out what happened. The
town I live in has a reputation for growing funny herbs, who knows
what they're thinking :-).
I put a couple of measurements on my web page: home.zonnet.nl/hvlems
Hans
