Thanks for the complete info. It's a rare treat. (But
you never need to quote a "-v", only stuff with upper-case
content, like, say, "-V". Speaking of which, you might try
adding "-V" to see if that helps.)
Any chance that I can get one or two of these files for
investigation? There's a "[.INPUT]" directory on my
anonymous FTP server (antinode.info) which should be happy to
receive a contribution. A "zip -V" (or even BACKUP) package
should preserve enough attributes to maintain the
trouble-causing capability of these things.
Just when I thought that the last bug had been fixed...
