Playing with words. The us "socialises" some stuff, just like many other 
countries
because it's been found to get the job done more cost effectively and 
more efficiently.
Pulling together towards a common goal. Some fanatics would like to see 
no government
at all, but that's called anarchy.

For example, defence, education, lawmaking, public health policy etc etc 
& loads of other
stuff that we all take for granted, are if not run by, are funded 
directly or indirectly
by government...
