I think many (most?) US states has "sales tax". I often see on eBay
sellers saying that "citicens of <some US-state> pays x% sales tax"...

We have a 25% VAT on most goods and fosile fules has some
extra "energy tax" and "carbondioxine tax" added on top of that.

And exatly what is that based on ?

We have no major problem with the VAT...
