Simply not true, unless your definition of "worked on it" was overly
flexible to the point of being without credibility.  There was never any 
project to port VMS to X86, skunkworks or otherwise.

Did anyone ever mull over the possibility?  Possibly, but that talk 
wouldn't have ever gone past the "watercooler" stage, as opposed to
a set of engineers tasked with a formal investigation.

Don't believe me?  Fine, that's your choice, but I'm in a position to do 
a bit more digging for information than anyone outside of HP could.
