[Info-vax] rx2620 PCI-X limitation

Recently I was going through the rx2620 documentation, as I wanted
to look something up. Then I came across the following, regarding
PCI-X cards (from the HP Integrity rx2620 Server User Service Guide,
2010, third edition), in some of the 'fine print' of the manual:

"CAUTION: There are restrictions on the number of PCI-X cards
that can be installed in the server at any given time, depending
    on the cards being used.

Maximum quantity for any I/O configuration using 337972-B21,
    AB287A, or A9890A cards:
o Three A9890A cards maximum and one unpopulated slot
o Two 337972-B21 cards maximum and two unpopulated slots
o One AB287A card maximum and three unpopulated slots

Failure to observe this caution results in server degradation
    or server failure."

I've been running two rx2620s with two AB287A cards in each PCI-X
card cage and I haven't run into any problems.

As a hobbyist I have no means to contact anyone about this (say, at
HP), but what I'm mostly wondering about is if the above warning
refers to possible physical damage or performance issues? I could
live with the latter being solely the case.
