I have a "COMPAQ Professional Workstation XP1000"
Type...........: EV67, Pass 2.2.2
Speed..........: 666 Mhz
Main Memory (2.00GB)
This is my best VMS machine. Actually, not bad, considering that they
can now be had for free. (I have some DS10s which might have slightly
better CPUs (not sure), but they don't have this much memory.)
The DS10 is probably the better machine, but a) the XP1000 usually has a
graphics card in it (of course one can put one in a DS10 as well), b)
doesn't have the management interface on top of the serial port (which
is useful but takes some getting used to). It is also relatively easy
to swap hardware in and out of it.
