   If your syustem had at least a minumal dump file (earlier posts
   suggest it hasn't), errors destinted for the system error log
   would be saved there until the next boot, when they would get
   moved to the error log.  The system error log utilities can
   create messages that are often much easier to read in terms of
   what caused the machine check.
