This concerns the HP A7173A, dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI controller.
In the manual that came with the A7173A it mentions that it 'should'
be recognized as "HP A7173A 1030 SCSI" instead of what I'm getting at
the moment, as seen below:
______________________________________________________________
$ SHOW DEVICES /FULL PK
[...]
Device PKC0:, device type HP LSI1030 Ultra320 SCSI, is online,
error logging is enabled.
[...]
Device PKD0:, device type HP LSI1030 Ultra320 SCSI, is online,
error logging is enabled.

I'm running I64/V8.4. Has the device identification string perhaps
changed since the manual was written?
Also, I don't seem to be able to mount disks (I get: "%INIT-F-MEDOFL,
medium is offline"). Which is strange, because in SHOW DEVICES the DKC
disks are shown as being "Online"...
The SCSI disk array system (an AXUS Demon SA-16P) I'm using provides
two SCSI channels and bridges SATA disks. (There are 16 × 1 TB disks
total, I have set it up with a variable sector size of 4 K, which
should be good for 16 TB.)
Another somewhat strange issue is that, whilst configured for U320, EFI
only shows --- and only some --- of the disks as being "40 Mbyte/sec."
(It reminds me of an LSI 1030T shortcoming, which I hope this particular
HBA isn't plagued by...)
It's maybe a bit much, but any ideas as how to potentially overcome
this?
