Two different reasons for the behaviour I guess.
The Digital Server 5305 never was supported by VMS officially. So it's
quite remarkable in the
first place that the OS recognizes the 5305 by its correct name. In
fact all Digital Server models are identified correctly and the
appropriate license requirements are in the LURT too. Which is why we
can run VMS on these systems.
The Qompaq professional workstation is a supported model and the only
explanantion for the reported behaviour I can come up with is that its
name is a string with an uncommonly long name and SH CLUSTER just
isn't prepared for it.
