I think this in interesting with regard to the general discussion around
the "low quality" of the 8.4 release. I guess that in due time we will
be able to better say if 8.4 was that significaly different then any
other VMS release. So far I remember one larger bug reported by Guy
Peleg. I'm not fully convinced that the macro/debug bugs reported
by VAXman is that a show-stopper for the VMS userbase at large.

I'm not sure that the view from the paying customer base is fully
in line with what have been reported here on c.o.v.

As I remember from the TUD i Stockholm in Sep (I think it was) there
wasn't any major issues around the 8.4 release. Most of the larger
sites represented seemed to have been testing the FT of 8.4 for some
conciderable time and many of them was going to use 8.4 together
with the new IA64 blades. A very different picture then what
you could expect if you only listened to c.o.v... :-)
