9.1 GB 7200 RPM Pluggable Wide Ultra2 SCSI

So you do have a SCSI controller card. The Islandco disk you point
out is an IDE disk; it would work, given the proper cable, with the
embedded controller on the DS10 MLB but it will be substantially
slower than the SCSI drive.

It would still help to know the model of the SCSI interface card. If
the machine can't be brought down to check, look at the back panel
(some have a part number or label there), or else in VMS do:

$ ANALYZE/SYSTEM

SDA> CLUE CONFIG

and scroll through the slot options; you should see something like:

F000 CC PKA: 14 Symbios 895 .... (I _think_ this is a KZPBA)

or

8800 FC PKA: 17 Adaptec AIC-7899 ... (these 2 lines are a KZPEA)
C900 F8 PKB: 17 Adaptec AIC-7899 ...

Report back what you see.

If you by chance have a faster card in there, might as well get a
drive that can use the speed.

If you get a drive with an 80 pin SCA connector, you will have to buy
a 68-80 pin adapter; get a name brand like Cables to Go and make sure
it isn't too tall to fit in the bay where the drive is going.

You could also look (at Islandco, et al) for original 68 pin internal
storage options like:

DS-RZ3FD-WA 36GB, 10KRPM Ultra3
DS-RZ3EF-WA 18GB, 10KRPM Ultra3
