   Hack, cough, spit, wheeze.

   Ancient?  We had an amazing amount of DCL programming on 11/780
   under VMS 2.x.  Always knew that we'd have to rewrite some in
   a compiled language if a performance issue cropped up, but it never
   did.  A real candidate for a product that came out years later
   that translated DCL to Fortran.
