8-bit versus 16-bit architecture ?

Note: I do _not_ regard "more primitive" as meaning "obsolete".

There are plenty of 8-bit architectures around and many of them are under
active development and been used in new products.

You are comparing a specific Z80 machine with a architecture. If you
instead compare the two architectures, I would suggest there are _many_
more Z80 class users around (although the vast majority of Z80 class
users will not realise they are users).

(BTW, when it comes to 8-bit architectures, my personal choice is the AVR.)

Simon.
