Dieter  You are getting the OpenVMS banner, so your console selection 
should be ok, Usually a hang at this early point of the boot indicates a 
problem with configuring the hardware. you may want to try booting with 
the verbose flags set to see if there is a specific area where it hangs, 
but odds are you wont be able to use VMS with this box.

I hear that OpenVMS V8,4 will boot as a guest system using HPUX virtual 
machine HPVM.

goto the EFI shell and type
