There's a well known story about an Irish Railway cluster that stayed
   up for 17 years and kept the application available 24 x 365.23 x 17.

There's a less known story about a MicroVAX in an establishment
that had other requirements leading to a really good UPS, and 14 year
uptime all on it's own. It came down the day they moved the office
   to a different building.
