Similar to DUDRIVER "connection walking", Multipath for fibre channel 
and SCSI devices is invoked as part of mount verification.

It's kinda fun to look at [SYS]MOUNTVER.MAR from VAX/VMS V1.0 and see
how simple it was, compared to the complexity of what happens today, 
which isn't even the full story, as other areas play a role in mount 
verification (DKDRIVER, SHDRIVER for shadow sets).
