I did notice that :-). In fact, modern hardware is very reliable and
the same quality parts are used by everyone. The days of dec sampling
every batch of chips that came into the building are long gone. Same for
board burn in, which was quite common in the old days to weed out chip
"infant mortality" failures.

Irrespective of os, Vms, Tru64, Linux or even windows xp, modern systems
just keep going until you need to change something, or power fail...
