There was the Logical Disk, though that might not have been until V5.
That allowed for a hard disk with multiple logical disk, which
one then selected.  Usually named after their owner, on a machine
used by more than one person.

The TOPS-10 system I first used allowed for three letter (sixbit)
user names, and decimal group (project) numbers.  Student accounts
were 29970 and 29971, real money accounts matched the account
numbers used by the school.  It was usual to use your initials,
possibly with a different middle initial, for user names.
