Of course (if it's VMS)

So, you use the X11 server on linux...

What does your X11 server tell you about your keyboard?

If you change the setup of the VMS X11 server, what do you expect?
You don't use/run it...

For configuring the x11 server of linux (which one?)
you need to provide more info (or ask in the linux group ;-)

Configuring the (remote) x11 server indirectly via a (local)
VMS application (like the style manager) might be possible
though (if the x11 server allows it)
