What kind of partitioning? Something that is visible outside of the 
controller, then no. VMS does not recognize "partitions". However, if 
you have a controller that can present a physical disk as several 
virtual disks, partitioning it, then it will work just fine.

For VMS, a disk is a disk. No such things as "partitions".

That said, I have found that modern disks works fine with old 
controllers, as long as you get an adaptor to actually connect them. But 
finding a disk with less than 1Gb today is impossible, I'd guess.
