[Info-vax] Good/best version of (Open)VMS for a VAXstation 2000?

Just a quick update. Given the help in this thread I was able to build
a disk image of VMS 4.7 that boots in the VS2000 emulator. Now all I
need is a copy of VWS and maybe some period programming languages ;)

Anyway, here are the steps I used, for anyone who's interested.

1. Using the standard MicroVAX 3900 emulation, attach a blank rd54
image in an unused "slot" of the SIMH MSCP controller and attach the
VMS 4.6 CD kit in a virtual RRD40.
2. Boot the 3900 emulation normally, then mount the blank rd54 as a
foreign disk and mount the 4.6 dist kit normally.
3. Use the BACKUP command to load REQUIRED onto the RD54 image
4. Shutdown and reboot from the RD54
5. Install as normal
6. Once 4.6 is going, the update to 4.7 is simple
7. After the system is installed in the "3900", it's a simple matter
to move the disk image over to the "VS2000" and boot it there.

Hopefully once the TK50 emulation is working for the VS2000 emulator,
things should be a bit simpler, but for now, this works.

Mike
