How do you intend to get anything from a CD-ROM into a
VAXstation/MicroVAX 2000?

If you have a TK50-FA/-GA tape drive for your 2000. And a
2000 with the expansion box where you can connect the tape
drive. And a way to make the tape.

I believe that one TK50 can hold the whole VMS kit,
including Standalone BACKUP, even though it was normally
distributed on more than one tape. Keeping the oxide on an
old TK50 tape long enough to get the job done is getting
harder every year.

I don't remember the details, but I doubt that any "modern"
Standalone BACKUP kit would fit onto _one_ RX33 diskette. Two
or three, probably. A close look at SYS$UPDATE:STABACKIT.COM
(or something like that) should reveal the medium count
required (if it's a supported medium). And then you need an
RX33 drive attached to your 2000 system. (External, if an
RD54 occupies the whole disk hole in the main system box.) I
think that I did it with RX33 floppies, long ago, but finding
the evidence could be difficult.
Making any use of a 2000 system is not a project for anyone
in a hurry.
