[Info-vax] V/I64 R/W USB mass storage boot support?

Is there a way to configure OpenVMS/I64 so it can perform a boot
from a R/W USB mass storage device?

I can successfully clone the 8.4 O/S optical disk to the candidate USB
device
(BACKUP/IMAGE/VERIFY), and boot the result on an RX2600.

When I replicate the same clone process using a production OpenVMS/I64
V8.4 R/W
disk as the source, theUSB boot fails with a bugcheck partway thru
the OpenVMS startup.

Is there something configurationally obvious I'm missing, or am I
simply
doomed to problems because of the rudementary support for USB devices
in OpenVMS/I64?

Having the ability to boot from "normal" OpenVMS images via USB
would open up many lower-cost recovery capabilities.

Thanks
