First off, this new HP Support Centre is a major joke. :-(
When you try searching using a patch ID, you sometimes get page
not found errors.
When you try to visit the forums, it's either down for maintenance or
stuck in a constant redirect loop.
It's very slow (sometimes 20 seconds to get a response).
When you try navigating the knowledge base by product, you end up at
a endpoint which says that IA64 OpenVMS is not supported in the US
(even though I told it during registration that I am in the UK):
| * > All HP products
| * > Software
| * > Operating Systems
| * > HP OpenVMS Operating Systems
| * > HP OpenVMS Operating Systems
|
|The product you selected, HP OpenVMS I64 Operating Systems, is not
|supported in United States or is not a valid product.
|Please visit Support and Troubleshooting for a list of products supported
|in this country.
There wasn't a Alpha option available on the path I took, BTW, hence the
choice of IA64 above.
Now onto the problem I am trying to solve:
A critical DoS bulletin, HPSBOV02470, for TCP/IP services for the SMTP
server in TCP/IP services has been published.
[There's also a unauthorised access one for POP/IMAP as well, BTW, in
bulletin ID HPSBOV02467]
The bulletin is a few days old, but the patch id given in the bulletin
for TCP/IP V5.6 on Alpha results in a 18 month old TCP/IP patch kit been
found when I enter it into the HP support centre.
Does anyone know what the correct patch ID is please ?
Thanks,
Simon.
PS: I do have a support call in with HP as well, but I don't have a answer
from them yet. (Before anyone suggests logging a call. :-))
