I ran an 8200 system for a couple of years and searched hi and low for one
of those graphics cards to turn it into a VS8000. Never found one and I
think
it was only listed in systems and options for about a year, though
originally
saw it in one of the supermicrosystems handbooks. The performance must
have been
underwhelming, though most likely faster than the Vaxstation 100, which was
a 730 with E$S graphics card and where much of the very early
development work
on X windows was done. If you look at the sources, there's quite a bit
of data
on the VS100 implementation and how they tried to get round the speed
limitations.

Would still like to find either of those boards, even though I no longer
have
the hardware to run it on...

Regards,

Chris
