   A lot of lab equipment can be driven over an HP-IB bus, which became
   an IEEE standard, and for which Qbus interface boards were made. 
   Today, however, when we must deal with such equipment, we use third
   party ethernet <-> HP-IB interfaces.  I don't think DEC made a VAX
   4000 without a NIC.
