The personality modules I know have two switch packs: one with four 
switches (for termination) and one with 8 switches (I believe that is 
used to control the SCSI IDs of the disks in the BA356 - 0..6 or 8..14).

Ok - so pkc is still the 8 bit controller? Maybe it needs a terminator 
when no disks are attached?

Can you stop the polling attempts with Ctrl/C?
