Hello:

I'm trying to implement SSH server for VMS 8.4
TCPIP V5.7 eco 2 (both Alpha and Integrity).

When I use the VMS SSH client to connect to a
remote server for the first time, I get:

$ ssh2 foo.bar
Host key not found from database.
Key fingerprint:
xizib-cegev-lodes-fumik-zogos-bunuc-rypyv-levul-kisyh-bycys-nyxex
You can get a public key's fingerprint by running
$ ssh_keygen "-F" publickey.pub
on the keyfile.
Host key saved to ssh2/hostkeys/key_22_foo_bar.pub

When I use PuTTY (or Ericom's PowerTermPro) to connect
to the same remote server, I get a Security Alert window
with (among other things):

The server's dss key fingerprint is:
ssh-dss 2048 23:39:25:52:7e:8e:9e:4d:c1:1e:e0:4b:fa:17:40:0a

Why the difference in the two fingerprints?
Is one (more) correct?
Is there a way to get the PuTTY version of the fingerprint
from VMS ?

TIA
Scott
