   Sigh.

   Still true.

If someone shows me an actual command like, say,
"cat /etc/hosts" or "tcpip show hosts" with its actual
output, then I have actual evidence of something. If someone
tells me what he believes to be true, then I have only
testimony of uncertain value (and, sometimes, of uncertain
meaning). Which of these is worth more to you?

   Still wondering.

Note that "hosts" info says nothing about the properties
of any actual interface, only how names and addresses are
associated (somewhere).

Note that showing actual commands with their actual output
normally removes any such uncertainty, which removal can
significantly increase efficiency in the exchange of actual
information.

   Just a thought.
