I don't disagree. My point was that they received the media while under the support contract, and there's no time limit to install it.
There may have been a legitimacy question if they got the media through other channels. For example, if their support contract actually ran out at v7.3 and someone handed them the v7.3-2 media after the fact.
Although, I would have to wonder whether v7.3-2 was considered a different version from a support perspective. Even if their contract did run out at v7.3, v7.3-2 from what I can remember was a hardware release which just happened to have new functionality too.
