The think the Alpha Utility you were referring to was WWIDMGR.

In the Integrity servers you need to use the Fibre Channel Bios to set /
change the adapter settings such as a full scan of the Fabric in
combination with the EFI map and reconnect commands to see the SAN storage.

Note , you only want to have the HBA set to do a full scan at
installation time. With a Large Scan environment and multiple paths the
MAP command at the EFI shell can take from 30 minutes to many hours.

Only with OpenVMS installations there is a EFI command in the system
disk EFI directory \efi\vms\tools\vms_bcfg that be be used to set the
EFI Fibre channel scan level.

vms_bcfg boot fibre 1 < full scan>
VMS_bcfg boot fibre 0 < only scan devices in system NVRAM>

If you do not run VMS you have to use the drvcfg command to enter the
Host HBA fibre adapters bios and change the setting there.

In Qlogic HBA's the setting is EFI Variable EFIFCScanLevel

IN Emulex change the "configure boot parameters" and change " boot
target scan" to "Boot Scan from EFIFCSCANLEVEL"
