Not bad either, you're right. I just had to learn that BR-script 3 is
Brother's version of Postscript level 3 :-) .

I compared the cheapest Brother multifunctional laser with duplexer and
Postscript with the Epson multifunctional, and added a full kit of large
capacity toner or ink. The Brother C M Y toner kits are good for 3500
pages, the K toner kit for 4000 pages. The Epson ink cartridges last
3400 pages. So no real difference in number of pages. With the Brother
you will also need a new toner residue container. We can exchange that
against the 600 extra pages of the K cartridge.

These are the Dutch prices incl. VAT:

Brother:
DCP-9055CDN printer - €470
C M Y toner kits 3 x €133 = €399
K toner kit - €54
Total - €923

Epson:
WP-4595 DNF printer - €410
C M Y ink cartridges 3 x 41 = €123
K ink cartridge - € 36
total - €569

Seems to me the Epson printer is quite a lot cheaper per page.

By the way, in Eastern Europe you can buy the Epson L800. It is a simple
Photo printer (6 colours), but it has large ink tanks to the side of the
printer. You can buy 70ml ink bottles for €11.20 to fill the tanks. That
is about 10% of the price/litre of the normal cartridges.
