I think that people who succomb to Windows environments eventually
forget poper internet etiquette and just go woth the flow with whatecer
the windows gui gives them. They may not even realise that they are
quoting a gazillion lines if that text isn't shown by default.

The iPhone email app is worse, it quotes the whole message, and adds
enough blank lines at the top so you don't see there is any quoted text
and then puts curson at top so that you are top posting.

So when you reply to a message, you must first press on the blank area,
"select all" "cut" and then delete a few characters that are not being
cut. Then you can start typing.
